Resale on the currently fitted speakers is decent, though, so not the only consideration. Weber: Seem to come highly recommended, no stockist in the UK beyond a few remaindered examples therefore not cheap.Ĭost is obviously a factor, much as it was with the attenuator (I ordered that Alan Geere one, BTW - updates to follow). I'd have a look, but they would have to bring something extra-special to the table to justify the expense (£230-ish) Warehouse: AlNiCo WGS speakers are more expensive than Celestions from Lean. Taydens: (unknown) a British-made speaker similar to the Blue I'm in contact with these already but they're out of stock for some time. P12N (£130) - louder than the R and Q, but still along the same linesĬelestion Blue: (£180) bright, swirly, changy, expensive. P12R / Q - cheap, characterful and very much along the raggedy, trebly breakup line. What I don't want/need: high power handling something I have to order from the States monstrous bass end (it's a 2x12 combo) anything that's going to cost more than the amp for a pair. What I want: Rolling Stones-type raggedy breakup slightly excessive treble chang/bark swirl. Looking at various AlNiCo speakers for a 5E3-type amp, looking for other people's experience.
